The Big Picture

What I Built

Next.js frontend with deliberately constrained AI API usage — a key green software principle. Graphics are optimised using CSS animations over heavy JS libraries where possible. Component rendering is lazy-loaded to reduce CPU overhead. The result is a measurably lower-carbon app footprint.

What Makes It Cool

  • ✦Green Software Engineering course project
  • ✦Reduced AI API call count by design
  • ✦Optimised graphics rendering
  • ✦Shalom handled all frontend engineering

Real-World Impact

Why This Matters

Environmental apps often use bloated architectures. For our Green Software Engineering course, we deliberately engineered Envi Rescue to minimise AI API calls and optimise rendering — and it worked.

Key TakeawayBuilt with clean software principles: fast loading, zero unnecessary clutter, and privacy first.

Behind The Scenes

How It Works

Minimal external API surface. No user data collected beyond session interaction. All assets statically hosted to reduce compute load.

Tested for speed, reliability, and smooth interactions
